MESER GOTHRIPS' EXCURSION TO RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTRE, BHUR ON 20TH OCTOBER, 2012
After the 4th DT session of Sarpang Dzongkhag, the Meser Gothrips were invited by RDC, Bhur to visit the Centre. The team was led by Dasho Dzongdag comprised Dasho Dungpa, Gelephu, Gups and Mangmis of 12 gewogs of Sarpang Dzongkhag. The objectives of the visit were: 1. Familiarize local leaders on many On-station research activities implemented at the Center for interactive discussion. 2. Local leaders be aware of technologies demonstrated On-station 3. Foster good rapport, coordination and linkages between RDC and local government. The day's program started with Introductory Presentation on RDC, Bhur followed by Campus-Tour. Through interactive discussion, RDC Bhur was able to: • Get guidance on management and conduct of RNR research with focus on new ways to coordinate, plan, prioritize, organize and implement RNR research • Find out whether research activities provide measured responses to the challenges (water stress: too much or too less, pest and disease outbreak, low soil fertility, low crop yield) of the farming communities. • Strengthen coordination and linkages between RDC and local government.
